Sage Ag Inc is looking for an individual who is interested in working with Precision Ag equipment both in a field and lab environment. Position requires occasional (approximately 50%) travel within the United States. You will be working as a team with engineers and technicians on the validation of precision farming equipment. Being from a farm or having experience running or working on large Ag equipment is preferred. However, having the ability to communicate, take initiative and present yourself professionally with a great attitude is a must.


  • Install and preform initial runoff of experimental precision farming equipment on cooperator owned machines
  • Assist with product testing and building harnesses for testing purposes
  • Report collected data from cooperators to the team of engineers
  • Capturing and utilizing video recordings of cooperator feedback
  • Constant daily communication with cooperator and team of engineers/developers
  • Daily reports on equipment hour totals and issues found
  • Keep track of issues found in the field
  • Provide professional opinions and advice to engineering on how new features are meeting customer demands.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues remotely or on site
  • Hands on repairs when working with the equipment when needed


  • Agricultural or Engineering degree or equivalent work experience
  • Job location would be in the greater Ankeny, IA area
  • Prior experience working with operating farm machinery is necessary
  • Clean driving record
  • Must be able to accomplish work within given time frame
  • Must be self-directed as you will be tasked to complete projects without every detail readily available
  • Need to be outgoing as you will meet many new people while working and must have the ability to communicate in various circumstances
  • Identify possible root causes of failures
  • Provide professional opinions and input to engineering on how new features are meeting customer demands.
  • Must be able to maintain a good attitude during busy times and long hours.
  • Can present themselves professionally always
  • Able to work as a team with engineers and technicians
  • Needs to be proficient with Microsoft Products (Word, Excel)
  • Familiarity with precision farming technologies
  • Strong in troubleshooting and problem-solving
  • Comfortable being around and running large machinery
  • Willingness to Travel


    Job Duration: Full Time

    Location: Des Moines, IA

    Compensation: $50,000-60,000 yearly (DOE) plus bonuses based on experience, all travel expenses paid by company
